Pro Wrestler Scott Hall by John Quinlan

The other day I watched the special on ESPN E60 titled "The Wrestler". I was always a fan of Scott Hall, he was a master of his craft and had an in the ring persona that was one of the greatest ever. I admire Scott Hall when he said in the documentary how the only thing in life he wanted to be was a professional wrestler because it was his dream and he worked hard to achieve it. It was his dream and he fulfilled it. As a parent I must admit, it was easy to get a bit emotional watching this special when it came to the part about his kids and what he said. Today, Scott is training his son Cody to be a professional wrestler and I think that is great! Kevin Nash said it best about how Cody is the "anchor" for Scott. I have to be honest when I say I strongly agree with Sean Waltman when he expressed his opinion stating "so you shove the guy out the curtain so you don't have to give out refunds". Doing that to Scott Hall was wrong, sorry, it just was. I think there is nothing better than a dad like Scott Hall passing along his knowledge to his son to someday be like him in the pro wrestling world. From watching this documentary, I was able to see the real Scott Hall directly from Scott himself. I respect Scott Hall and think he is a good person with a lot of heart and determination. As a father of a son my self (2 sons) seeing the two working together was a special thing that I hope I can do as well. I wish Scott and Cody Hall all the best this world has to offer!

Peyton Manning Possibly In Red & Gold by John Quinlan

Wow, the word on the street today is Peyton Manning might possibly be going to the San Francisco 49'ers sometime in the near future. Hey, I'm a Patriots fan but I gotta give Manning my respect! He is a true competitor and wants to win and after the year the Colts had with Ryan Luck probably being drafted by them as the QB of the future for them it makes sense Manning wants out. Check out this article that has some pros and cons about Manning going to the 49'ers:

San Francisco offers Manning a great opportunity to get an other Super Bowl ring with a championship calibre team, it will be interesting to see what he does!

Tattoos In Society Today & Mike Tyson by John Quinlan

Tattoos in society today are much more common place than they were in the past. From celebrities to athletes, many people all across the globe sport body art in some way. They have officially become mainstream. Here are a few examples:
Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson's chest tattoo

Manny Pacquiao's Arm Tattoo

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Marquesan Tahitian (Polynesian) & Bull Tattoo's

I think society has, for the most part, come a long way in recent years. It is nice to see people expressing themselves through their tattoos as they often hold deep personal meaning. I have always been a fan of those who are not afraid of being different & unique. I think it separates one from the rest of the crowd...he or she stands out. They are not afraid of what others think about them and I respect that quality very much. It can be something simple as Marisa Tomei's foot tattoo:

or a bit more like Jesse James ex-wife Janine Lindemulder:

It's all about you as a person to exercise your freedom of choice which is a great thing! Here is a photo of one of my own tattoos, the dragon half sleeve:

This just wouldn't be complete without mentioning the man with one of the most creative tattoos on God's green earth, the one and only Mike Tyson:

Personally I have always been a strong Mike Tyson supporter throughout the years. Many don't realize what a tough early life he had and being cast into the spotlight at such a young age as the heavyweight champion of the world must have been a lot to handle. Remember, every story always has 2 sides, far too often we never get to hear the truth directly from the person and they get bashed by the public  by "hearsay". I feel Tyson was often a victim of this. Like him or hate him, you have to respect him.

Watch this amazing documentary, keep an open mind before you watch it. Maybe this video, for those of you who dislike Mike, might change your mind of him.

2011-2012 New England Patriots by John Quinlan

Congrats to the New England Patriots for going to the Super Bowl this year. This was especially true for Patriots owner Bob Kraft who lost his wife Myra on July 20, 2011. We all know what an amazing and generous woman Myra Kraft was and all the players loved her.

More on Myra Kraft Here

I am so very happy for Bob Kraft and his entire family. The Patriots have kept the Kraft's and Myra's spirit close to their hearts throughout the season and this past week's victory over the Baltimore Raven's which put them in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants was dedication to Mrs. Kraft.

Brian Fox did an incredible job designing the inspirational painting about Mrs. Kraft!

God Bless the Patriots on Super Bowl Sunday, win this one for Myra Kraft!

Potatoes or Rice by John Quinlan

Starting to get my body back into "fighting shape" as they say and I am finding that I like rice this time around much better than baked potatoes. I don't feel as full as the rice is lighter but still gives me the quality carbs I need (among other things like oatmeal etc.). I wonder if others feel the same way as I do about this. I would love some expert opinions, especially boxers or MMA fighters who are getting ready for a fight, very curious what their diets are as they are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world. All good!

Ray Lewis - The Heart of A Warrior by John Quinlan

Today the New England Patriots got their trip to the Super Bowl but the Baltimore Ravens defense made it a game. I have so much respect for the leader of the Ravens, Ray Lewis. He is one of the greatest motivators the game has ever known and plays the game with such heart and passion. As a New England Patriots fan I am very happy they are going to the Super Bowl BUT on the other hand if the Patriots had lost the game and the Ravens had advanced I would be just as happy because one of the games greatest players would be going and he truly deserved it after such an amazing career. So to sum this up, I have 100% respect for Ray Lewis for the way he has played his sport and for all the kids he has helped motivate and encourage to go after their dreams as he did!

God Bless
