My Tattoos by John Quinlan

OK, just for the record everybody and their mother keeps asking me over and over again how many tattoos I have and what they are. Well, here it goes to set the record straight.

  • Japanese theme half sleeve on upper right arm
  • Celtic sun cross on middle upper back
  • Tribal bracelet with barbed wire around right wrist
  • Kanji "Strength" symbol on inner right forearm
  • Kanji "Tranquility" symbol on inner right forearm
  • Celtic high cross with banner on upper left back
  • Kanji "Happiness" symbol on upper right back
  • Celtic Rock of Cashel cross on upper right back
  • Kanji "Hope" symbol on upper left back
  • Chrome and black "Godsmack" tribal sun symbol around navel
  • "Medusa" theme half sleeve on upper left arm
  • Kanji "Courage" symbol on lower left abdomen
  • Kanji "Family" symbol inside left wrist
  • Tribal shamrock on right ring finger
  • Kanji "Perseverance" symbol on right ring finger

  • So as you can see I have 15 individual tattoos which are all either Irish or Oriental. All of the symbols have deep meaning to me and describe my life and what things I feel are important to me to live a rich and full life. I have always been a person that I would call unique as I have never copied anybody and have always done things my way as crazy as that may sound because I thought it was for the best at that given time. My advice to anybody reading this post is to just be yourself and if people choose to judge you for the wrong reasons just ignore it as life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Thank you & God Bless Always :)

New Training Updates - Video, Articles and Photos by John Quinlan

    Hello my friends,

A few updates to be posted right now. This morning some video was filmed of me in the gym at 2 weeks out until my first show right after my training session. I feel ok, hanging in there :) I just briefly talk about how I feel at this point right now.

I also want to thank to amazing women, Cassandra Carr and Claudia Reid. They have both been so supportive of me and they are so very much appreciated. Love you both! Here are a few links with me published by them today:

Sports Model Photographs in March 2012 From Sandra Kimball by John Quinlan

Sandra Kimball took some sports model themed photographs of me this past March outside in natural sunlight. Really just progress shots as I have a few shows coming up but I think Sandra did a great job. She is an amazing photographer and super nice person. Thanks Sandra!

Updated Training Related Videos by John Quinlan

Good morning everybody, I hope you all have a great weekend :) Just a quick post here as an update to my current training. Below are a couple videos added to YouTube yesterday by The Big Dog from this past week. My main thing right now is to keep my mind focused and relaxed. I try and balance everything and not take things too seriously. Being a dad with 3 young children and taking care of them along with my training it can get quite busy! It's all good because doing both things are so very rewarding to me. Here are the videos below, much love:

Today's training session was decent. I was a bit tired as I think the photo shoot I had last Friday is still wearing on me a bit but other than that all is good. Still injury free and I feel ok. The quality of the film isn't that good but I tried again today (usually once a week) to measure my body progress a bit as I am about 5 weeks out from my first show of 2012. Below is the direct link to watch the video clip:

Here is what the Big Dog had to say when he uploaded this video about the discussion we had earlier,

"John told me this year will be different than last year. Last year he tore his entire right hamstring almost off the bone while at the same time tearing his groin as well. As he got closer to show time he said he was unable to do any sufficient cardio work because he couldn’t walk. He also said there were many abdominal exercises he couldn’t perform properly because of these injuries. So far he has said he is injury free and feels very good. He said the injuries are 100% healed. John told me there were people out there that criticized his abs last year but it was because of the fact he was injured and being as injured as he was and not being able to do virtually any cardio and proper ab exercises severely affected his abdominal development. This video was filmed in the gym in March of 2012 about 5 weeks out from his first show of the year. John says checking his abdominal development about once a week when getting ready for a show is a great way to measure his overall body progress."

I Was Talking With A Friend Today by John Quinlan

Just a quick post because it was fresh in my mind. I was speaking with a friend of mine earlier today and he mentioned something that was interesting to me. He asked me if anything about me has changed over the past 2 years, seeing that I am now injury free and have a firm grasp on my diet as I am back in the "fitness" swing of things with a clear head. I said, it is still the same old me I am just smarter now....I know how to train and how to eat. The mistakes I made from 2 years ago will never again be made and the mishaps with my diet from being careless won't be made either. So with that below I have posted a few photos as a flashback to 2010. Enjoy....Much Love!
